Design and Analysis of Experiments
DAE 2007 Conference Home Page
Early Announcement

31 October - 3 November 2007

The Conference:

Purpose:
The purpose of the DAE conference series is to provide support and encouragement to junior researchers in the field of design and analysis of experiments and to stimulate interest in topics of practical relevance to science and industry.

History:
In the summer of 2000, researchers from North America and abroad in the area of experimental design, including a large group of young talented new researchers, attended the First Midwest Conference for New Directions in Experimental Design in Columbus, Ohio, organized by Angela Dean, Kathryn Chaloner, Dibyen Majumdar and Dennis Lin. This conference had a focus on applications of design in industry and was well received. A discussion group reached consensus that a series of similar conferences should be held every two or three years at different locations in North America.

Subsequently, in July of 2002, DAE was organized by Randy Sitter and held in Vancouver, Canada, which was followed by DAE 2003 (Conference in New Directions in Experimental Design), which was organized by Kathryn Chaloner, Angela Dean and Dibyen Majumdar and held in Chicago in the spring of 2003 and, in October 2005, DAE was organized by Christine Anderson-Cook, Mike Hamada, and Lisa Moore and held in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

DAE 2007:
The DAE2007 meeting will be the fifth conference in the DAE conference series. As in the earlier DAE conferences the principal aims of DAE2007 meeting will be to provide support and encouragement to junior researchers in the field of design and analysis of experiments and to stimulate interest in topics of practical relevance to science and industry. There are also opportunities for junior researchers to be paired with a senior mentor close to their areas of interest in the conference. To stimulate interaction between junior researchers and senior researchers there will be round table discussions on research directions, publishing, writing of proposals, etc., which will be led by senior researchers.

DAE2007 will continue to focus on emerging areas of research in experimental design, as well as novel innovations in traditional areas. Session themes (tentative) will include: (1) Designs for Microarray Experiments, (2) Crossover Designs, (3) General Linear Models, (4) Computer Experiments, (5) Screening Experiments, (6) Design Assessment Tools, (7) Computer Algorithms for the construction of designs, (8) Applications of Experiment Design, (9) Bayesian Design, (10) Sequential Design, (11) Optimal/Combinatorial Design and Mixture Experiments.

DAE2007 is being held at Holiday Inn (University Campus) in Memphis.
