She also serves on the College of Arts & Sciences Advisory Board. In a quote from her award presentation, Ms. Talbot says "It is important to have a sense of community, to be part of something. Commitment to the good of others and to the earth is our highest duty." To women making their way in the corporate world, she says to "trust their own energy".

Dr. Singh, who is Professor and Chair of the biostatistics department at the University of North Texas, is one of three fellows honored by the Modeling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand this year. Researchers use modeling and simulation to better understand behavior and natural phenomena through the use of mathematics. Dr. Singh is also director of the School of Public Health's Center for Biostatistical Consulting at UNT. He says "To be a fellow of an internationally reputed scientific society is an awesome honor".

This is not the first honor Dr. Singh has received from the Society. In 2001, he won its Outstanding Service Award. Fellows are chosen on a biennial basis from an international pool of nominees. Fellow are recognized for their unselfish dedication to the aims of the society, as well as for their contributions to modeling and simulation. We offer our heartiest congratulations to each of these outstanding alums.
