GRADING POLICY
There
will be four one hour-exams, three quizzes and a final exam. The link to Exams
at the top of the page contains all the information about the dates and the
material that each exam covers. Each hour-exam is worth 100 points. The lowest
hour-exam score will be dropped, and only the best three scores of the
hour-exams will be used in order to compute your final grade. The homework is
assigned weekly (under the link to Assignments above), but it will not be
collected. The quizzes will be out of homework problems, therefore you are
strongly encouraged to do all the assigned homework. Each quiz is worth 10
points. The final exam is cumulative, and it is worth 170 points. The maximum
score you can achieve in the class is 500 points.
The final letter grade will be assigned using the following scale:
95-100%=A, 90-95%=A-, 87-90%=B+,
84-87%=B, 80-84%=B-, 77-80%=C+, 74-77%=C, 70-74%=C-, 67-70%=D+, 60-67%=D,
