Math 1420 - 008 (Foundations of
Math) Spring 2008
Exams
There will be four one-hour exams, three
quizzes and a final exam. (As stated in the grading policy on the
course’s main webpage, the lowest score of the hour-exams will be dropped,
and your grade will be computed using the best 3 scores you got in the
hour-exams.) Each hour-exam is worth 100 points, each quiz is worth 10 points
and the final exam is worth 170 points. The maximum score you can obtain in the
class is 500 points. The dates for the exams, quizzes and the material covered
by each of them are indicated below.
There are no make-up hour exams, no make-up
quizzes and no make-up final exam!
EXAM 1: Thursday, January 31,
2008.
This exam covers
Sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5.
QUIZ 1: Thursday, February 14,
2008.
This quiz covers
the homework problems from Sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3.
EXAM 2: Thursday, February 21,
2008.
This exam covers
Sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5.
QUIZ 2: Thursday, March 13, 2008.
This quiz covers
the homework problems from Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4.
EXAM 3: Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
This exam covers
Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5.
QUIZ 3: Tuesday, April 1, 2008.
This exam covers
the homework problems from Sections 12.1, 12.2, 12.3.
EXAM 4:
Tuesday, April 8, 2008.
This exam covers Sections 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4,
12.5.
FINAL EXAM: Tuesday, April 29,
2008, 10:30 am-12:30 pm, 129 Dunn Hall.
The final exam
is cumulative and covers Sections 1.1 through 1.3, 2.1 through 2.5, 3.1 through
3.5, 11.1 through 11.5, 12.1 through 12.5, 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.5.
A review for the final exam will be done during lecture on April 22, 2008.
